Our travels have often provided ways to explore our interests in new settings – interests such as:
Food/wine/cooking/eating!;
Current affairs/music/movies/theatre/reading/writing/books including children’s books and education – I was a teacher for 25 years & now volunteer at a local primary school;
Photography/architecture/design/building/engineering/gardens;
History/museums/art galleries;
Animals/birds/conservation/environmental issues/ National parks/walking (both urban & natural settings) + my husband and sons enjoy kayaking/fishing quite often on the Australian coast – I have spinal problems but enjoy watching!
and last but not least PEOPLE – especially those willing to socialise with those outside their bubble…the reason we prefer independent travel as you never know who’ll you meet beside you on the train!
